A little history about me.
My photographic journey began in the 1970s during my time in the Royal Air Force. At just 19 years old, I became one of the instigators of a photographic club at one of the RAF bases, working closely with a colleague who was the station photographer. Under his guidance, I learned many of the skills and techniques that would shape my future behind the camera.
From those early days, photography has always remained part of my life. Wherever I went, there was always a camera nearby, ready to capture the people, places, and moments that inspired me.
After leaving the RAF, I settled in a small town in Lincolnshire, where I opened a modest one-room office and converted part of it into a photographic studio. There, I specialised in portraiture, family photography, and portfolio shoots for aspiring models, building valuable experience working directly with people and developing my creative style.
In the 1990s, I moved to Spain and spent several years running snorkelling boats from the harbour. It was a completely different chapter in life, but one that allowed me to fully immerse myself in Spanish culture and language while continuing to photograph the world around me.
After around six years in Spain, I returned to England and went on to establish Yorkshire Studios — a 1,200 square foot professional photography studio in Yorkshire. The studio became well known locally and remained successful for many years. Even today, I still receive enquiries asking whether the studio is still open.
Around seven years ago, I returned to Spain permanently. Alongside managing a large villa complex, I continued photography as both a passion and creative outlet, reconnecting with photographers and models I had worked with over the years. Gradually, photography once again became the centre of my professional life.
Today, I specialise exclusively in private one-to-one photographic experiences from my home in the Spanish countryside. Surrounded by mountain views and the beauty of the campo, I host carefully organised shoots and workshops tailored to individual photographers.
Having lived in the region for many years and speaking the language, I’ve discovered countless unique and photogenic locations that most visitors would never find alone. Combined with professional models and personal guidance, these exclusive one-to-one experiences offer photographers the opportunity to create truly exceptional images in some of southern Spain’s most beautiful settings.
This is more than just photography — it’s the result of a lifelong passion that began over 50 years ago and continues today.
