I booked 5 nights at Steves with my friend Louise, a few months ago and just a few weeks before departure I ended up in hospital for 8 days . Steve was very accommodating in taking us to locations that were easy for me to cope with. The highlight for me was the hotel by the lake for dinner, I have known Steve for a good few years now an d he knows his area like the back of his hand. You could not have a more knowledgable or welcoming host.

I have been to Steve's place in Spain many times over many years but this is the first time on a 1to1 basis

Steve has put together a shoot quite different from the others I have been on and it is even better than before.

I took out my model, Kasia, who I have also shot with many times both here and around the UK.

And we had both a relaxed and productive few days.  I will be returning.

What can I say about this outstanding experience from Photofinca. Impeccable service from start to finish. Right from being picked up from Malaga airport and driven to the superb accommodation at his villa through to returning home everything was provided. The en-suite, air conditioned accommodation was bright, clean and extremely comfortable and the full board catering was superb either at his villa or local restaurants.

Your host, Steve, is extremely knowledgeable about the local area and provides unlimited time and effort to ensure that you get to the many outstanding shooting locations in the area as well as on the terrace and pool area.

I can recommend both Steve and Photofinca highly - you get superb service during your stay and access to excellent photo locations and shooting opportunities.

Not my first model photography holiday, but certainly my best…

By his own admission, Steve Lowery is slowing down. Operating from a well-appointed villa in Andalusia, his holiday business “Photofinca” is now more than a decade old. Once catering for groups, he’s now easing gently into a “one photographer, one model” format. Focusing very much on the personal, you can let him set you an itinerary, or (as I did) just wing it from one day to the next. There’s no shortage of nearby locations, and he only collaborates with models who know the area. All of them have worked with him before and are queuing quietly for a chance to return.

So, what did I get? For a simple nightly charge, I was welcomed at the airport and driven in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle to Steve’s villa. There I had my own en-suite room; a comfortable bed; air con; internet access; privacy if I needed it; and as much food and drink as anyone could need. Meals were taken with Steve and the model, and either cooked by the man himself, or eaten out in local cafés and restaurants – all of which offered spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

Having chatted about what I wanted, Steve took care of the preparation and driving to all the venues. My model for the stay was the lovely Rebecca Perry, and she did a sterling job. We shot sunrise in the mountains, fashion by the villa, exquisite art nudes at a local lake, more fashion in a 16th century village, a local spa pool, an abandoned flour mill, boudoir, and of course the ubiquitous poolside glamour. Everything was provided with a mix of laughter, calm efficiency, and a little nudge of inspiration from Steve and Rebecca when needed. I’ve come home with everything on my list – and more besides.

Having done the group thing (not entirely successfully…), I’m now a convert. Steve is good at this. He knows the terrain, the pitfalls, and how to get around them, and is so very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and I think I’ve made a friend as well as buying an excellent holiday.

There’s just one more thing to add… I began by saying this was my best model photography holiday to date. But Steve has some interesting enhancements planned for the summer and beyond. I shan’t give the game away here, but I’m making plans for a return because I have a feeling that this holiday was in fact my second best…
